Soon after the incident, various awards and cash prizes were announced for JK, while Sarvjeet, who initially went into hiding fearing what’s next, was arrested the next day.
However, in a surprising turn of events, an eye witness showed up and changed the game. However, this relief was short-lived for Sarvjeet as the pressure from the media and AAP led to a media trial, which increased the pressure on police administration.
This case took many dramatic turns and had become the topic of discussion in many homes in the nation. While JK became a hero overnight, Sarvjeet was declared a pervert and was treated as an outcast. Many among his family denied any association with them. A lot of celebrities had also taken to different social media platforms to name and shame Sarvjeet, and later ended up apologizing.
Furthermore, the police refused to take the statement of the eyewitness, and the case went on in the court for four years. During this time, Sarvjeet was chucked out of three jobs, his relationships fell apart, and he almost lost his father to poor health.
This book talks about Sarvjeet’s resolve to come out clean and how he gathered evidence bit by bit when he got the hint the government lawyer he had been attached to, was actually working against him… This book chronicles the fight of an ordinary man against the system, corruption, the social media and the news media.
